I submitted my inquiry to All Pro Decking via their website and received a phone call from the owner, Ray McLees, the very next day.

We arranged for Ray to come to the house so he could take measurements and review the project. Ray was courteous and professional from the moment we met him. He provided a bid and proposed two different kinds of materials that we told him we were interested in. We discussed our budget limitations and Ray was sensitive to that. He worked to help us choose materials and a design that fit within our budget. After we’d decided on which material to go with, Ray provided us with several PDF drawings of how the finished deck would look. We were very excited that we could now actually see this project in its finished state!

After giving Ray our approval on his drawings, he arranged for his crew to get to work. They started on a Tuesday, arriving promptly at 8:00 a.m. and took five business days to complete our project. Each day, the crew arrived on time and each night they cleaned up their work area completely and covered their materials and tools so it was ready for the next day. By the end of the project, Ray’s crew had left our yard and deck area cleaner than they’d found it!

The quality and the craftsmanship that Ray’s crew put forth is fantastic. The deck is not only beautiful, it is solidly constructed. Throughout the process, Ray visited the site each day to monitor the progress and support his crew — and he communicated with us regularly on the status of the project. We were very pleased with the entire experience.

I contracted All-Pro Decking to repair my +10-year old redwood deck in Sep-12. The entire process went smoothly and all the guys at All-Pro completed their work like professionals.

The base flooring of my large deck was in good shape but there were some built-in benches and tables that were falling apart. In addition, the existing railing was insecure and the deck siding was unattractive, serving no useful purpose. Ray set up an initial visit quickly. He listened to what I wanted to do with the deck, gave me some feedback, and he ultimately turned around a simple but detailed cost estimate explaining the scope of the work to be done.

The guys who completed the physical deck repair were great as well. Will was the lead contractor on my job and he did a really nice job. He always took time to answer my questions and he was an easy guy to like. I changed direction early in the project (adding some additional elements to the project) and Will along with his guys didn’t miss a beat. The work was completed in two days. The guys worked hard, they were clean, and when they left my deck/yard was clean as well.

It was a pleasure doing business with All-Pro. My deck looks great, the price was fair and I’d recommend them to friends.

My wife and I had a rotted outdoor stairway leading to a studio above the garage. All-Pro gave us a fast, fair quote that included several options from basic redwood to composite decking. So we hired them.

Ours is a rebuild of a 1922 carriage house, so it has some design quirks, and the All-Pro guy came up with several very creative, cost-effective options to solve some unexpected rot and the problems of a very unusual rebuild done in ’94. I was very pleased with how easy it was to work with these guys around the issues that came up. They are problem solvers, they always tried to save us money, and never said “it can't be done.”

Though I was skeptical about composite at first, we went with the composite and are glad we did. It’s a very good value for the price. We have a baby, and when she starts walking, I can be comfortable knowing she won’t be getting splinters and cuts on wooden stairs. The decking looks nearly identical to painted wood, feels comfortable under bare feet and is stronger than wood.

I can’t stress how professional and friendly these guys are. Just great guys. They showed up every day with a friendly smile, and then went straight to work and worked hard. And the work they did was outstanding, very high quality carpentry for the price. If you hire these guys, you won’t be disappointed. We are very pleased we did.

The original contractor who had bid our job bailed at the 11th hour, and Ray stepped up.

From the outset we felt we could trust him and that he knew his craft. Our project was so open-ended that we needed to do a time and materials contract. We essentially gutted two floors of our house and pushed out the back. At every turn Ray was concerned about conserving our money. He found ways to save thousands with contractors. He selected very good craftsmen and got them at the job site in timely fashion, orchestrating the whole operation beautifully. (Sometimes there were six different subcontractors on premise!)

We completed our project when we thought we would. There were some snags, but they weren’t in Ray’s court. In fact, with one egregious design error, Ray found a workable and cheap solution where the architect and the designer had failed.

We routinely recommend Ray to people who are considering a remodel project. We will contact him again even if it is for just redoing a powder room. He stands by his work, is personable, competent, and honest.

Ray did the framing and decks on our extensive remodel of our living area, and then was suggested to us as general contractor for our basement remodel by our architect.

The work was done within a tight schedule and on budget. Ray selected the trades (electric, insulation, wall board and taping, painters) and he and his partner Lander did framing and carpentry. They did a bedroom/closet, recreation room, and entry area with insulated walls, new ceiling, doors, etc. The job came out very well. It was a pleasure working with Ray and Lander — they listen, they explain their recommendations clearly, and they suggest design changes that improve the result. Their charges (matching the budget) were very reasonable.

They also recently built a large arbor for us that came out very well. Both the basement and the arbor included details that they suggested and which were very nice improvements to the plan. Two examples: the outside window trim for a new (large) basement window was made to match the other basement windows—specifically trimming the bottom 2/3 of the window, without trim on the surrounding brick; for the ends of the wood beams on the arbor, they suggested matching the roof angle, which worked very well.
